W.R. Harshaw and Revivals

American Grace is a reminder of how

He attended, along with a bunch of other ministers, a evangelist meeting. in 1894.  This relates to the Brooklyn revival here.  Both Thomas and A.C. Dixon were ministers in NYC at this time, associated with the revival.  Thomas later became notorious (to liberals) as a novelist, writing "The Clansman" which served as the basis for "The Birth of a Nation". A.C. seems to have been a fundamentalist, later moving to Chicago and associating with Dwight Moody.
